The Animate Awards - 'Aniwards'!

I'm hoping to give out a few small awards to my customers (the animal ones!) at the end of this year.  I have a few categories in mind, but if anyone can think of some more (lighthearted and humorous preferably!), i will appreciate your input. From May i will have room to accommodate dogs, cats and small animals at my home.  This wont be in a kennel/cattery type setting, but more a home from home environment. I'm very excited about this, as it means i can look after animals from further afield and it can be more cost effective for some customers. So i look forward to seeing your animals in my own home very soon!

17th April - Maisie the lamb visits Deerbolt!

On saturday the 17th i took a pet lamb along to meet the children who were visiting relatives at Deerbolt Young Offenders Institute in Barnard Castle.  The children petted and fed the lamb, who was named Maisie by one of the children.  Maisie had a great time, jumping and skipping in the pen along with our young lab/retriever dog - Holly - who managed to get plenty of the attention too!

A lot of the children who come to visit at Deerbolt are from very urban areas and some were a bit apprehensive about this strange creature at first - but as you can see from the pictures below, they soon warmed to her!  (Ignore the date on the photos - it definitely wasn't the 25th Jan!) 

28th-31st May - Whit weekend - Pet show!
I will be sponsoring the pet show at Barnard Castle Meet weekend.  The pet show will be held on the Demesnes on sunday 30th, judging is at 11am.  I'll be there most of the day, so feel free to come and chat to me.  Bring your pets along and enter them - although i can't accept bribes, as i'm not judging!! Rabbits in need!

From time to time, i come across animals that need rehoming, usually simply due to a change in circumstances.  I currently have two neutered rabbits that need a new home as their owner is moving house and can't take them with her.  They are both healthy and friendly.  Please contact me if you're interested.
